Qatar, Kuwait and Egypt Condemn Israeli Statements on West Bank Annexation

Riyadh, July 3 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – The State of Qatar has condemned recent statements by the Israeli Minister of Justice regarding the annexation of the occupied West Bank, describing them as an extension of settlement, colonial and racist policies that violate international law and UN Security Council Resolution 2334, the Qatar News Agency (QNA) reported.

In its statement, Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed the urgent need for solidarity from the international community to confront what it described as the occupation’s dangerous escalation, which threatens regional security. The Ministry reiterated Qatar’s firm position in support of the Palestinian cause and the Palestinian people’s steadfastness, based on international legitimacy and the two-state solution, ensuring the establishment of an independent state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.

Separately, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly denounced recent calls by Israeli officials to expand Jewish settlements in the occupied West Bank, according to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA). Kuwait’s statement described the planned expansions as a serious violation of international legitimacy and relevant UN resolutions. Kuwait reaffirmed its support for the Palestinian people in their efforts to regain legitimate rights under UN resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative, including the right to establish an independent state within the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.

Kuwait also renewed its call for the UN Security Council to uphold its responsibility to protect international peace and security and to defend international legitimacy.

Egypt’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigration condemned the Israeli Minister of Justice’s remarks calling for annexation, describing them as a flagrant violation of international law aimed at entrenching the occupation of Palestinian territory, according to the Middle East News Agency (MENA). The statement reaffirmed Egypt’s categorical rejection of these statements and the ongoing Israeli actions in the West Bank, including military incursions, arbitrary arrests, and the continued expansion of illegal settlements.

Egypt called for immediate international action to halt violations against the Palestinian people and stressed the need for concerted global efforts to realise their legitimate aspirations, including the establishment of an independent state along the June 4, 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
