MOSCOW, May 17 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Russian President Vladimir Putin has invited the leaders of all Arab League member states, as well as the League’s secretary-general, to attend the first Russia–Arab Summit, scheduled to take place on October 15, according to a statement released by the Kremlin and reported by Russian news agencies on Saturday.
“I am confident that this meeting will contribute to the further strengthening of mutually beneficial, multifaceted cooperation between our countries and will help in finding ways to ensure peace, security, and stability in the Middle East and North Africa,” Putin said, as cited by Interfax.
The Arab League, comprising 22 member states across the Middle East and parts of Africa, plays a key role in regional political, economic, and security cooperation. The planned summit marks a significant step in expanding Russia’s diplomatic engagement with the Arab world.
The announcement follows U.S. President Donald Trump’s recent four-day visit to the Gulf region, during which several major agreements were announced, including a $600 billion investment pledge from Saudi Arabia to the United States, $142 billion in arms sales, and a strategic AI partnership with the United Arab Emirates.
The upcoming Russia–Arab Summit is expected to address regional conflicts, energy cooperation, trade, and geopolitical developments affecting both blocs.
