Riyadh, June 16, 2025 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – The Prince Saud Al-Faisal Institute for Diplomatic Studies held a symposium on Monday to mark the International Day of Women in Diplomacy, bringing together senior officials and diplomats to discuss the evolving role of women in foreign affairs.

Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Waleed Elkhereiji delivered the opening remarks, emphasizing the progress made in empowering Saudi women under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister. He noted that Saudi women now serve as ambassadors, envoys, and representatives in international organizations.

The symposium included contributions from female diplomats and ambassadors accredited to the Kingdom. Discussions focused on institutional support for women in diplomatic roles, the role of male allies in enabling change, and the importance of integrating women’s perspectives in shaping foreign policy.

Participants also examined the impact of women’s participation in multilateral forums, the importance of inclusive policymaking, and strategies for navigating current and future challenges in diplomacy. The event is part of broader efforts under Saudi Vision 2030 to promote gender inclusion across key sectors, including foreign affairs.
