Riyadh, March 13, 2025 – The General Assembly of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee (SOPC) has unanimously re-elected Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal as its president for the 2024-2028 term during its 28th General Assembly meeting held at Prince Faisal bin Fahd Olympic Complex in Riyadh.

In a statement, Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal expressed his gratitude to the Kingdom’s leadership for its unwavering support in advancing the sports sector, emphasizing that this commitment aligns with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 to establish the Kingdom as a global leader in sports.


The prince's remarks were delivered on his behalf by SOPC Vice President Prince Fahd bin Jalawi, who also conveyed his appreciation to the SOPC board members for their dedicated efforts throughout the previous Olympic cycle. Additionally, he extended thanks to the General Assembly for their confidence in his leadership for a second term.


During the assembly, members approved a financial support agreement for sports federations, which aims to ensure the sustainability of sports development, enhance services provided to athletes, and improve operational efficiency within the sector.


The re-election of Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal signals a continued commitment to expanding Saudi Arabia’s sports initiatives, fostering athletic excellence, and strengthening the Kingdom’s global presence in the Olympic and Paralympic movement.
