Jeddah, May 23 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) — The latest edition of the "Passport to the World" cultural series is spotlighting Sudanese heritage through May 24, offering visitors in Jeddah an immersive experience of the country’s rich traditions, folk art, and cuisine.
Organized by the General Entertainment Authority (GEA), the event showcases Sudan’s cultural identity through live folk performances, traditional dances, and interactive workshops that explore local customs, celebratory rituals, and community storytelling.
Guests are invited to sample authentic Sudanese dishes, desserts, and traditional beverages at the event’s food corner. Visitors can also try on traditional Sudanese clothing and learn about the symbolic meanings of various colors, fabrics, and regional dress styles.
The initiative is part of GEA’s broader effort to highlight the cultural diversity of expatriate communities in the Kingdom and promote social cohesion through inclusive and engaging cultural programming.
This week’s Sudanese showcase follows earlier editions that celebrated Filipino and Bangladeshi cultures, and comes after a well-attended stop in Alkhobar. Organizers reported strong public interest in the Jeddah event, with families and visitors engaging in activities designed to foster greater intercultural understanding.
The program aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 objectives of enhancing quality of life and enriching the Kingdom’s cultural landscape through global engagement.
