Naomi Campbell, 53, Welcomes Her Second Child: "It's Never Too Late To Become A Mother"

Naomi Campbell has surprised her fans by announcing that she has become a mother for the second time at the age 53. The supermodel shared the news on Instagram on Thursday, posting a sweet photo of herself holding her newborn son's hand, while her two-old daughter joined the precious moment.

The British icon, who had not revealed that she was expecting another child, wrote: "My little darling, know that you are cherished beyond measure and surrounded by love from the moment you graced us with your presence. A True Gift from God, blessed! Welcome Babyboy #mumoftwo". She added: "It's never too late to become a mother".

The supermodel, who is known for her groundbreaking career in fashion and philanthropy, has been open about her desire to have children in the past. In 2017, she told Evening Standard magazine: "I think about having children all the time. But now with the way science is I think I can do it when I want".

Campbell has also expressed her joy of being a mother in various interviews. In 2021, she told BBC HARDtalk: "I'm really lucky, I think I have a dream child". She also posed with her daughter for the cover of British Vogue, affirming: "She's my child".

Since becoming a mother, Campbell has not slowed down her work in the fashion industry. She has continued to walk the runway for top designers such as Alexander McQueen and Versace, as well as gracing the covers of magazines such as Essence and i-D. She has also been active in supporting various causes, such as Covid-19 relief efforts and racial justice movements.

Campbell's announcement was met with an outpouring of love and congratulations from her fans and fellow celebrities. Model Claudia Schiffer commented: "Congratulations Naomi! What wonderful news!" Singer Kelly Rowland wrote: "Oh my goodness! Congratulations Mama!!!" Fashion designer Donatella Versace said: "I'm so happy for you Naomi!!! You are an amazing woman and you will be a wonderful mother to your new baby boy!!! Love you!!!"

Campbell is not the only celebrity who has become a mother later in life. Other stars who have welcomed children in their 40s and 50s include Halle Berry, Janet Jackson, Brigitte Nielsen, and Rachel Weisz.
