Moderate to Torrential Thundershowers Forecast in Parts of Central and Southern Saudi Arabia

Riyadh, April 18, 2025 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – The National Center for Meteorology (NCM) has issued a weather update forecasting moderate to heavy thundershowers in several regions across the Kingdom, accompanied by dust-stirring winds that may affect visibility and road conditions.

The weather alert includes parts of Riyadh, Makkah, Al-Baha, Aseer, Jazan, and Najran, where moderate to torrential rainfalls are expected. These conditions could lead to water pooling in low-lying areas and disruption to outdoor activities. Authorities are urging residents and travelers in affected areas to exercise caution and stay updated with official guidance.

Meanwhile, light to moderate rainfall is forecast for Qassim and Madinah regions, bringing slightly cooler temperatures and cloudy skies to those areas.

In maritime zones, northwesterly to northerly winds over the Red Sea are expected to reach speeds of 15–30 km/h, while the Arabian Gulf will experience northwesterly winds at 20–40 km/h, potentially affecting small craft and coastal navigation.

The National Center for Meteorology continues to monitor developments and advises the public to follow official updates and avoid flood-prone areas during periods of heavy rain.
