Jeddah, May 23 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) — The Mishkah (lamp) installation at the Islamic Arts Biennale 2025, showcased in the Al-Munawwarah Pavilion, offers visitors a multi-sensory exploration of Madinah’s spiritual heritage through an immersive display of light, fragrance, and architectural artistry.

The installation is designed to reflect Madinah’s historical and spiritual association with light, symbolizing tranquility and the city's prophetic legacy. Through its interplay of illuminated patterns and ambient scent, the exhibit evokes a contemplative atmosphere that connects visitors to the spiritual essence of the holy city.

At the heart of the installation are intricately carved Mangour panels—a traditional handicraft native to Madinah. The artwork features three-layered lattice structures made of mahogany wood and glass, inspired by the geometric designs found in mosque chandeliers.

Measuring up to 2.5 x 2 meters, the panels refract light in carefully choreographed patterns onto the surrounding floor, creating a dynamic, meditative space. The visual rhythm of light and shadow draws from Islamic architectural aesthetics, while anchoring the experience in cultural authenticity.

The Mishkah installation serves as both a tribute to Islamic craftsmanship and a sensory journey into the values of serenity, reflection, and sacred space.
