Minister of Sport Hosts Reception for Al-Ahli Following AFC Champions League Elite Victory

Riyadh, May 6, 2025 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Minister of Sport and President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal hosted a formal reception on Monday in honor of Al-Ahli Football Club, following the team’s historic victory in the AFC Champions League Elite.
The reception, held in Riyadh, brought together members of Al-Ahli’s board of directors, as well as the team’s technical and administrative staff and first-team players, in recognition of their exceptional performance and decisive win against Japan’s Kawasaki Frontale in the tournament final.
The event was also attended by Assistant Minister of Sport Abdulelah Aldilak, Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF) President Yasser Almisehal, and several senior officials from the Ministry of Sport.
In his address, Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki praised Al-Ahli’s achievement, underscoring the team’s technical excellence and collective spirit, which he described as reflective of the growing strength and competitiveness of Saudi Arabia’s professional football league.
“This triumph exemplifies the high morale and dedication of our athletes, and stands as further evidence of the tremendous support extended to the sports sector by the Kingdom’s leadership,” he stated.
The minister emphasized the broader implications of this success, noting that such accomplishments are critical in enhancing Saudi Arabia’s presence on regional and international sporting stages. He encouraged the players and coaching staff to maintain their momentum and continue striving for excellence.
