Paris, January 9, 2025 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Melania Trump, accompanied by her husband and U.S. President-elect Donald Trump, attended the State Funeral Service for former U.S. President Jimmy Carter on Thursday at the Washington National Cathedral in Washington, D.C.

The former first lady donned a Valentino trench coat dress featuring a dramatic collar with a black-and-white print of a couple kissing among roses and butterflies. The striking design originates from Valentino’s Fall 2019 collaboration with Undercover. Paired with the coat’s belted waist, Melania’s look exuded understated elegance, appropriate for the solemn occasion.

Donald Trump, dressed in a classic black suit and blue tie, held hands with his wife as they paid their respects to the late president.

Former President Jimmy Carter, who passed away on December 29, 2024, at the age of 100, was remembered as a humanitarian and champion of human rights. As the 39th U.S. President (1977–1981), Carter navigated a pivotal time in American history and later devoted his post-presidency to advancing conflict resolution and global health through the Carter Center.

In an official statement following Carter’s passing, Donald Trump said, “The challenges Jimmy faced as President came at a pivotal time for our country and he did everything in his power to improve the lives of all Americans. For that, we all owe him a debt of gratitude.”

President Joe Biden declared January 9 a national day of mourning and ordered flags to be flown at half-staff for 30 days in honor of Carter’s legacy.

The funeral service, attended by dignitaries and former leaders, featured heartfelt tributes, including remarks by Steve Ford, son of President Gerald Ford, and Ted Mondale, son of Vice President Walter Mondale. Carter’s son Jason and longtime adviser Stu Eizenstat also paid tribute to his life and contributions.

Jimmy Carter’s enduring legacy as a statesman, Nobel Peace Prize laureate, and humanitarian will continue to inspire generations. His leadership and devotion to global peace and justice were celebrated in a ceremony befitting his monumental impact on the world.
