TIRANA, May 17 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – French President Emmanuel Macron reiterated on Friday that the humanitarian situation in Gaza is “intolerable” and called for renewed efforts to secure a ceasefire and ensure unimpeded access to humanitarian aid.
Speaking at a summit of European leaders in Albania, Macron said he intends to raise the matter directly with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and U.S. President Donald Trump, emphasizing the urgency of international coordination.
“The humanitarian situation in Gaza is unacceptable. We are reaching a level that we have never seen before in terms of human suffering since the beginning of the conflict,” Macron told reporters.
The French president underlined that the immediate priority is to end the fighting between Israel and Hamas, stressing the importance of restoring aid corridors to address growing needs among civilians.
President Trump, who concluded a regional tour of the Middle East on Friday, acknowledged the worsening conditions in Gaza and the necessity of facilitating humanitarian aid, though his visit yielded no immediate progress on achieving a new ceasefire.
