Riyadh, January 19 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Under the radiant lights of Riyadh’s ANB Arena, the fifth annual Joy Awards unfolded last night, honoring exceptional contributions to the MENA region’s entertainment industry. Hosted by Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority, the prestigious event brought together leading figures in music, film, television, and digital media, solidifying its reputation as the Middle East’s premier cultural celebration.


An Evening of Elegance and Achievement


The event dazzled attendees with its signature lavender carpet, transformed into a runway of couture excellence. Regional and international stars showcased opulent designs, with attendees including Arab icons Nelly Karim and Ahmed Ezz, alongside Hollywood legends Morgan Freeman and Hans Zimmer, who received lifetime achievement awards for their outstanding contributions to cinema.


This year’s Joy Awards introduced new categories, including sub-categories for TV Series and a Directors Award to honor the visionaries behind the camera. Among the standout winners were Hannah El-Zahed, recognized as Best Actress in a Film for her role in Fasel Men El Lahazat El Lazeeza, and Hesham Maged, awarded Best Actor in a Film for his performance in Ex Merati. Welad Rizk 3: El Qadia claimed Best Film, while AlRawabi School for Girls season two earned the accolade for Best Levant Series.


The evening also celebrated achievements in music, with Assala Nasri named Best Female Artist and Ayed awarded Best Male Artist. Rising talents were spotlighted, including Rakan Al Sa’ed, who was recognized as Best New Artist.

Global Recognition and Regional Pride


The 2025 Joy Awards cemented its status as a global platform, with honorees spanning continents. Lifetime Achievement Awards were presented to luminaries such as Andrea Bocelli, Yasser Al Azma, and JK Youn, while the Diamond Entertainment Industry Award celebrated the poetic legacy of Badr bin Abdulmohsen.


Highlighting Riyadh’s emergence as a global cultural hub, the ceremony broadcasted live on MBC channels and Shahid, attracting millions of viewers. Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority, Turki Al-Sheikh, emphasized the Kingdom’s commitment to fostering creativity and celebrating artistic excellence, reflecting Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 initiative.


The 2025 Joy Awards concluded with a resounding message of inspiration, as Riyadh once again became the epicenter of talent and creativity in the Arab world.
