King Salman Chairs Cabinet Session in Jeddah, Reviews Outcomes of Saudi-U.S. Summit and Approves New International Agreements

Jeddah, May 20(Saudi Arabia Breaking News) — Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud chaired the Cabinet session on Tuesday in Jeddah, reviewing key outcomes from the recent Saudi-U.S. Summit and discussing a series of international agreements across strategic sectors.
During the session, King Salman expressed appreciation to U.S. President Donald J. Trump for accepting the invitation to visit the Kingdom, and praised the results of his discussions with Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman. The Cabinet noted that these engagements are expected to elevate bilateral relations to historic levels and advance economic integration between the two nations.
The Cabinet reviewed the results of the Saudi-U.S. Summit, which took place during President Trump’s first foreign visit of the current term. Among the key outcomes were the signing of the Strategic Economic Partnership and several agreements and memoranda of understanding. Over $300 billion in investment deals were announced at the Saudi-U.S. Investment Forum, with plans to expand bilateral trade and investment to exceed $600 billion over the next four years.
Following the session, Minister of State, Cabinet Member for Shura Council Affairs, and Acting Minister of Media Dr. Essam bin Saad bin Saeed said the Cabinet commended the comprehensive vision presented in the Crown Prince’s speech at the GCC-USA Summit. The address reflected Saudi Arabia’s commitment to multilateral cooperation and peaceful resolutions to regional and international crises.
The Cabinet welcomed President Trump’s positive response to the Crown Prince’s efforts to lift sanctions on Syria, expressing hope that such steps would support reconstruction efforts in the country.
The Cabinet also reiterated the Kingdom’s firm stance, delivered at the 34th Ordinary Session of the Arab League Summit, rejecting any forced displacement or imposed solutions that fail to meet the aspirations of the Palestinian people, and emphasized the importance of maintaining the ceasefire in Gaza.
The session marked the 10th anniversary of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief), recognizing its efforts in assisting people in more than 100 countries.
Domestically, the Cabinet reviewed the progress of the National Industrial Strategy, which successfully attracted three major global automotive manufacturers to establish operations in the Kingdom, contributing to economic diversification and global competitiveness.
The Cabinet also commended Saudi students for securing prestigious awards at the International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF 2025), highlighting the state’s support for education, innovation, and scientific excellence.
In addition to addressing its regular agenda, the Cabinet issued several decisions, including:
Approval of a memorandum of understanding with Japan to establish a strategic partnership council.
Authorization for the Minister of Transport and Logistic Services to sign a draft MoU with Russia on civil aviation safety.
Approval of a cooperation MoU with Uzbekistan in communications and information technology.
Approval of a framework agreement with the International Labour Organization regarding junior professional programs and recruitment.
Authorization for the Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources to sign a draft MoU with Kazakhstan on mineral wealth cooperation.
Approval of a health cooperation MoU with Singapore.
Authorization for the Saudi Geological Survey to sign a draft MoU with the Geological Survey of India on scientific cooperation.
Approval of a cooperation agreement with Somalia on combating terrorism and its financing.
