Jordan’s King Abdullah II, Bulgarian President Radev Discuss Gaza, Regional Security in Sofia

Sofia, April 4 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan met on Thursday with Bulgarian President Rumen Radev in Sofia to discuss bilateral relations and key regional developments, with a particular focus on the ongoing conflict in Gaza and regional security cooperation.
According to the Jordan News Agency (Petra), the two leaders held expanded talks at the Presidential Palace, addressing the need to reinstate the ceasefire in Gaza, ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid, and de-escalate tensions in the West Bank.
King Abdullah emphasized the importance of Bulgaria’s role in hosting the latest round of the Aqaba Process meetings, which Jordan is co-sponsoring, noting the relevance of the initiative in the context of today’s global security challenges.
The King also highlighted the alignment between Jordan and Bulgaria on various regional and international concerns and called for enhanced cooperation and mutual understanding to address common threats.
President Radev reaffirmed Bulgaria’s commitment to regional stability and praised Jordan’s diplomatic efforts to end the violence in Gaza and support humanitarian relief efforts. He underlined Bulgaria’s support for a two-state solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
The Bulgarian president also noted that the Aqaba Process meetings would address critical issues such as counterterrorism and combating radicalisation, which are of shared concern to both the Middle East and the Balkan region.
The meeting reaffirmed the two countries’ commitment to strengthening cooperation in political and security domains amid ongoing regional and international developments.
