Riyadh, June 24 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Iranian and Israeli media outlets reported early Tuesday that a ceasefire between the two countries has taken effect, though confusion remains over the precise terms and timing of its enforcement.
U.S. President Donald Trump had initially announced that the ceasefire would begin approximately six hours after his post on social media declaring the agreement, placing the expected start time close to midnight Eastern Time.
Shortly after 12 a.m. Eastern Time, Israeli news outlets Channel 12 and Ynet reported that the ceasefire had come into effect. Iran’s state-run Press TV stated, “Ceasefire begins following four waves of Iranian attacks on Israeli-occupied territories.”
Tasnim, a semi-official Iranian news agency, published a brief update on its Telegram channel noting that the ceasefire had entered its “enforcement stage.”
Earlier in the day, Iranian state media had declared that a ceasefire had been “imposed on the enemy,” without providing specific timing or further details.
As of publication, Israel’s government has not issued an official statement regarding the ceasefire.
