Riyadh (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) — Iran has communicated to Oman and Qatar that it will not engage in any negotiations with the United States while its cities remain under Israeli attack and until Tehran’s military response is complete, according to a regional diplomat speaking to CNN.

The official dismissed media claims that Tehran had requested Oman and Qatar to mediate a ceasefire or restart nuclear negotiations with the U.S., calling such reports “inaccurate.”

While the diplomat did not specify when Iran's retaliatory campaign would end, the ongoing exchange of missile fire between Iran and Israel has triggered deep concern across the region and among global powers.

Oman’s Foreign Minister Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi confirmed that the sixth round of negotiations between Tehran and Washington — originally scheduled for Monday — was canceled due to the hostilities. However, he emphasized, “diplomacy and dialogue remain the only pathway to lasting peace.”

Separately, the Oman News Agency reported today that Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian affirmed in a phone call with Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said his support for resolving disputes through “diplomatic solutions and negotiation.”

Nevertheless, Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi reiterated Tehran’s firm stance on Saturday, stating that negotiations with the U.S. are "unjustifiable" amid Israeli attacks on Iranian cities.

The exchange highlights the fragile state of diplomacy as tensions between Israel and Iran escalate into a broader regional conflict, casting doubt over near-term prospects for de-escalation or revived nuclear diplomacy.
