Sharjah, UAE – In a significant move, His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has directed the Islamic Affairs Department to rename the Al Qala'a Neighbourhood Mosque in Kalba. The mosque will now be known as Khor Kalba Mosque.
This directive was issued by His Highness during the "Direct Line" broadcast on Sharjah Radio. The renaming reflects the rich cultural and historical significance of the Khor Kalba area, aligning with ongoing efforts to preserve and honor the heritage of the region.
The Islamic Affairs Department has confirmed the change, stating that it will promptly implement the new name in all official records and signage. This initiative is part of broader efforts by the Sharjah government to maintain and enhance the cultural identity of its neighborhoods and landmarks.
