Grand Mosque Launches AI-Powered "Al-Maqraa" Quranic Education Platform

Makkah, March 4, 2025 – Sheikh Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Sudais, President of Religious Affairs at the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque, has inaugurated the AI-operated "Al-Maqraa" project at the Grand Mosque, a groundbreaking platform offering Quranic education in 10 languages.
The Al-Maqraa platform integrates authentic teaching methods with artificial intelligence, providing structured lessons in recitation, tajweed, and memorization under the supervision of qualified instructors. It features a Sharia-based administrative system, performance tracking tools, and flexible enrollment options for students, fostering an engaging and accessible learning experience.
Sheikh Dr. Al-Sudais described Al-Maqraa as a global initiative that reflects Saudi Arabia’s commitment to advancing Quranic education through modern technology. The project, launched during Ramadan, serves as a spiritual gift to Muslims worldwide, reinforcing Islamic values and preserving the sacred tradition of Quranic learning at the Grand Mosque in Makkah.
