FIFA Opens Special Transfer Window for Club World Cup 2025 Participants

Zurich, May 21 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) — The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) has announced a special transfer window for the 32 clubs participating in the FIFA Club World Cup 2025, to be held in the United States from June 14 to July 13.

The transfer window will run from June 1 to June 10, 2025, allowing clubs to register new players ahead of the expanded tournament. The measure follows amendments to FIFA’s Regulations on the Status and Transfer of Players, approved by the FIFA Council in October 2024.

FIFA stated that the decision aims to address discrepancies in registration periods and season calendars across different associations, while granting clubs the flexibility to strengthen their squads before the competition.

Clubs must submit final squads by June 10. A secondary registration window will be open between June 27 and July 3—after the group stage—for player additions or replacements. Eligibility for the second window is subject to specific conditions, including the requirement that players be signed within valid registration periods. The move also allows the inclusion of free agents whose contracts expire during the summer.

The 2025 tournament will feature clubs from 20 national associations, including Saudi Arabia, Brazil, Egypt, England, France, Germany, Argentina, Mexico, Morocco, the United States, and others. It will mark the largest and most inclusive edition of the competition to date.

Opening on June 14 at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, the tournament will be hosted across 11 U.S. cities, including Atlanta, Los Angeles, New York, Philadelphia, and Washington D.C. The final will take place on July 13 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

DAZN will serve as the tournament’s exclusive global broadcaster.
