Dubai, July 22, 2025 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Emirates announced the launch of a third daily flight to Mauritius starting December 1, reinforcing its commitment to strengthening inbound tourism to the Indian Ocean destination.

The new service, designated EK709/710 and operated by a Boeing 777 aircraft, will enhance the existing Emirates schedule and accommodate growing demand from across the airline’s global network of over 140 destinations. The airline currently operates two daily A380 services to Mauritius under flight numbers EK701/702 and EK703/704.

Implemented in partnership with Air Mauritius under a codeshare agreement, the additional frequency will offer optimized flight timings and seamless connectivity for passengers traveling from the Middle East, Europe, and the Americas.

Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer, stated, “The additional daily service on our wide-body Boeing 777 aircraft will enable a more than 30 percent increase in capacity on the route, while also providing additional flight options for leisure and business travellers to seamlessly connect to flights.”

Since beginning scheduled operations to Mauritius in 2002, Emirates has transported more than 8.8 million passengers and over 126,000 tonnes of cargo on the route. The airline's contribution to the local economy includes US$119 million in direct revenue from flights, US$264 million in tourism receipts, and a broader US$530 million impact through tourism-related expenditure.

Emirates' presence has also contributed to the creation of approximately 3,600 jobs in Mauritius, underscoring its long-term economic and social impact on the nation.
