RIYADH, May 8 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Located at the far end of the Tuwaiq mountain range, the “Edge of the World” has become one of Saudi Arabia’s most prominent natural landmarks, attracting hikers, mountaineers, and nature enthusiasts from across the Kingdom and beyond.
Rising to an elevation of 1,131 meters and situated approximately 100 kilometers from Riyadh, the cliff formation offers panoramic views of vast desert landscapes and deep valleys. The site is part of the 800-kilometer-long Tuwaiq escarpment, a key geographical feature in central Saudi Arabia.
The area is also of geological interest, with visible fossilized shells and marine life indicating that it was once submerged under an ancient body of water.
Visitors often gather to witness sunrise and sunset from the summit, when the sky casts vibrant colors over the horizon. Winter is considered the best time to visit due to cooler temperatures and occasional rainfall, which transform the arid terrain with seasonal vegetation.
