Dubai’s Iconic Mosques Illuminate with Stunning Light Projections for Ramadan

Dubai, March 9, 2025 – Four of Dubai’s most iconic mosques are glowing with breathtaking light projections throughout Ramadan, transforming the city’s skyline into a mesmerizing visual spectacle. The initiative, titled ‘Anwaar Dubai’, is launched by Brand Dubai, the creative arm of the Government of Dubai Media Office, as part of this year’s #RamadanInDubai campaign.

Under the guidance of H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council, the lighting projections celebrate art, culture, and spiritual heritage, bringing new dimensions to Ramadan in the emirate.

Four Mosques, One Spectacular Display

The illuminations have transformed the facades of four iconic mosques:

• Jumeirah Grand Mosque

• Al Khawaneej Mosque (Al Habbai)

• Sheikh Rashid Bin Mohammed Mosque (Al Hudaiba)

• Zabeel Grand Mosque

Using state-of-the-art lighting technology, the minarets, domes, and intricate architectural details of these mosques are illuminated with stunning designs that harmonize with their surroundings. The light effects extend to the floors, creating an immersive display that blends tradition with modern technology.

A Blend of Art, Technology, and Spirituality

Shaima Al Suwaidi, Director of Brand Dubai, emphasized that ‘Anwaar Dubai’ aligns with Dubai’s vision to integrate art, technology, and cultural expression into public spaces. She highlighted that the initiative not only captures the essence of Ramadan but also enhances the city’s aesthetic appeal in an innovative way.

Mahra Al Youha, a member of the organizing committee of the #RamadanInDubai campaign, stated that the lighting projections merge Islamic heritage with contemporary creativity, offering a modern representation of Dubai’s cultural and religious identity.

Celebrating Ramadan with Tradition and Innovation

Now in its second year, the #RamadanInDubai campaign, led by Brand Dubai in collaboration with government, semi-government, and private sector partners, continues to enhance the city’s festive atmosphere, celebrating Dubai’s rich cultural heritage throughout the Holy Month.

Residents and visitors can experience the illuminations across the city throughout Ramadan, reflecting the spirit of faith, unity, and artistic brilliance in one of the world’s most dynamic cities.
