Dakar Rally 2025 Set to Begin in Saudi Arabia

Bisha, January 3, 2025 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – The Dakar Rally 2025, the world’s largest and longest motorsport race, is set to commence on Friday, January 3, from Bisha, marking the sixth consecutive year Saudi Arabia hosts this iconic event. Organized by the Saudi Automobile & Motorcycle Federation (SAMF) and supervised by the Ministry of Sport, the rally will run until January 17.


Over 800 participants are expected to compete in the grueling event, which spans 7,737 kilometers, including 5,129 kilometers of special stages. Starting in Bisha, competitors will navigate challenging terrains through Al Hanakiyah, AlUla, Hail, Al Dawadmi, Riyadh, Haradh, and Shubaytah, showcasing the Kingdom’s diverse and stunning landscapes.

Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal, Minister of Sport and President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee, highlighted the significance of hosting the Dakar Rally for the sixth time, stating, “This achievement underscores the Kingdom’s ability to organize major international sporting events, reflecting our commitment to the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.”


The minister praised the unwavering support of Saudi leadership and emphasized the sports sector’s dedication to enhancing global engagement through initiatives and programs aligned with the Kingdom’s vision.


He extended a warm welcome to all participants, wishing them success and an unforgettable experience in Saudi Arabia’s vibrant natural environment.

The Dakar Rally 2025 promises a thrilling spectacle for motorsport enthusiasts, reinforcing Saudi Arabia’s reputation as a premier destination for world-class sporting events.
