In a recent Cabinet session held in Riyadh, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, chaired discussions that delved into the comprehensive international engagements of the Kingdom, spanning diplomacy, economics, and environmental stewardship.

Strengthening Global Cooperation: A Diplomatic Triumph

The Cabinet was briefed on recent high-level talks between Saudi officials and their counterparts from various countries, emphasizing the Kingdom's commitment to strengthening cooperation, coordination, and multilateral action. The outcomes of key summits, including the Non-Aligned Movement Summit, Third South Summit of the G77 and China, and the IGAD Summit, underscored Saudi Arabia's pivotal role in global politics and economics.

Saudi Arabia's dedication to contributing to global security, stability, and development was evident in its active involvement in these diplomatic endeavors, showcasing a commitment to fostering collaborative relationships on the international stage.

Global Economic Leadership: Riyadh to Host Special Session of World Economic Forum

The Cabinet reviewed the Saudi delegation's contributions to the World Economic Forum in Davos. It was announced that Riyadh would host a special session in April on "Global Cooperation, Growth, and Energy." This move emphasizes the Kingdom's role in shaping global economic dialogue and underscores its commitment to steering the world towards a more sustainable and cooperative future.

Environmental Initiatives and Climate Leadership

The Kingdom's efforts in preserving the environment and mitigating climate change effects were also discussed. The Cabinet highlighted Saudi Arabia's active role in leading the global economic movement towards a more sustainable future. Commitment to Palestinian Cause: Rejecting Israeli Aggression

Addressing the developments in the Palestinian arena, the Cabinet reiterated the Kingdom's rejection of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip. Saudi Arabia emphasized the urgent need for an immediate ceasefire, unrestricted access for aid, prevention of forced displacement, and the creation of conditions conducive to stability and the achievement of lasting peace.

Key Decisions and Agreements: Advancing Bilateral Relations

The Cabinet issued several decisions, highlighting the Kingdom's commitment to fostering cooperation across various sectors:

  1. Memorandum of Understanding with India: Approval for a memorandum of understanding between Saudi Arabia and India regarding electricity connection, green/clean hydrogen, and supply chains.

  2. Visa Exemption with South Korea: Approval of an agreement between Saudi Arabia and South Korea regarding mutual exemption from short-term visa requirements for holders of diplomatic, special, and official passports.

  3. International Collaborations: Authorization for discussions and signing of various memoranda of understanding covering political consultations, prevention of human cloning, environmental cooperation with Oman and CEDARE, and transport and innovation collaboration with South Korea.

  4. Halal Certification Recognition: Approval of a memorandum of cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Malaysia regarding mutual recognition of halal certification for local products.

  5. Academic Collaborations: Authorization for the Minister of Culture to discuss and sign a draft memorandum of understanding between the King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language and the Mohammed bin Zayed University for Humanities in the UAE, as well as a memorandum of cooperation between Darah and the National Archives of India.

  6. Unified National Classification of Crimes: Adoption of the "Unified National Classification of Crimes for Statistical Purposes."

  7. Institutional Merger: Merging the King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Center for Language Planning and Policies with the King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language, with the simultaneous cancellation of the center's organization.

These decisions demonstrate Saudi Arabia's commitment to advancing bilateral relations, fostering economic growth, and playing a crucial role in international diplomacy and cooperation.
