Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Receives Ukrainian President Zelensky in Jeddah
Jeddah, March 12, 2025 – Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman received Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Tuesday ahead of high-level talks between Ukrainian, Saudi, and U.S. officials aimed at discussing pathways to resolving the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
During their meeting, the Crown Prince reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s commitment to supporting international efforts for peace, emphasizing the Kingdom’s dedication to resolving the Ukrainian crisis. President Zelensky expressed gratitude for Saudi Arabia’s diplomatic role, highlighting its significance in the Middle East and global affairs.
The discussions took place in Jeddah, where senior Saudi and Ukrainian officials were in attendance. Earlier, Zelensky was welcomed at King Abdulaziz International Airport by Deputy Governor of Makkah Region Prince Saud bin Mishaal bin Abdulaziz and other officials.
The talks between Ukrainian and U.S. representatives are set to take place later on Tuesday in Jeddah, with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio also attending after meeting with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on Monday. The discussions come as efforts continue to seek a diplomatic resolution more than three years after Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
