AlUla, December 5, 2024 – The Royal Commission for AlUla has announced the opening of the Chedi Hegra Hotel in the historic city of Hegra, Saudi Arabia’s first UNESCO World Heritage Site. This milestone marks a significant step in AlUla's transformation into a premier global tourist destination.


The boutique hotel features 35 luxury rooms that seamlessly integrate contemporary design with the area’s natural and historic surroundings. Built around an old railway station, the Chedi Hegra preserves the cultural heritage of the site while offering modern amenities and a unique architectural experience.


Guests can enjoy a range of offerings, including three restaurants with breathtaking views, a heritage gallery, a wellness center, and a traditional Saudi coffee house. The hotel’s main restaurant, located in the railway station, highlights a rare 1906 train carriage as a striking centerpiece, providing a blend of history and elegance.


The Chedi Hegra represents a key addition to AlUla's growing appeal as a cultural and tourist hub, reflecting the Kingdom’s commitment to sustainable tourism and heritage preservation under Vision 2030.
