Jeddah, April 16, 2025 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – The General Directorate of Narcotics Control (GDNC), in coordination with the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority, announced on Tuesday the successful interception of an attempt to smuggle 147 kilograms of methamphetamine into the Kingdom.
The illegal substance was concealed within marble shipment containers at Jeddah Islamic Port. Authorities confirmed the arrest of four individuals in connection with the case—three Pakistani residents and one Saudi citizen—who were identified as the intended recipients of the narcotics.
The operation forms part of the Kingdom’s ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking and protect public safety through close cooperation between security and customs agencies.
The GDNC urges all citizens and residents to assist in these national efforts by reporting any information related to drug smuggling or distribution. Reports can be submitted by calling 911 in the Makkah, Riyadh, and Eastern regions, and 999 in other areas. Alternatively, individuals may contact the GDNC directly by calling 995 or via email at 995@gdnc.gov.sa. The authority has assured that all reports will be handled with complete confidentiality.
The Kingdom continues to intensify its crackdown on drug-related crimes in line with national security priorities and public health protection initiatives.
