Riyadh, June 15 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Almarai, one of the largest food and beverage companies in the Middle East, has signed a definitive agreement to fully acquire Pure Beverages Industry Co. for SAR 1.04 billion ($277 million), the company announced on Sunday.
The acquisition is part of Almarai’s strategic plan to expand its presence in the non-dairy beverage segment and strengthen its market position within the Kingdom.
Pure Beverages Industry Co. is a leading bottled water producer in Saudi Arabia, known for its "Ival" and "Oska" brands. The company operates modern production facilities with a focus on quality and sustainability, aligned with national priorities on resource conservation and food security.
In a statement, Almarai said: “This strategic acquisition is in line with Almarai’s plan to diversify its beverage offerings and enhance its market position. We believe this deal will create added value for our shareholders.”
The transaction will be financed through Almarai’s internal cash flows and is subject to regulatory approval and completion of all contractual obligations. The company confirmed that no related parties are involved and that material updates will be disclosed as required.
The acquisition reflects the broader trend of rising merger and acquisition activity in Saudi Arabia, driven by the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 program. The economic transformation strategy encourages private-sector growth, foreign investment, and industrial diversification across key sectors.
Almarai, founded in 1977 and listed on the Tadawul stock exchange since 2005, produces and distributes dairy products, juices, bakery goods, poultry, and infant nutrition products. It is one of the most valuable publicly traded companies in the Kingdom.
